He is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist with over 20 years of NHS experience and specialist expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Following core psychiatry training at Charing Cross Hospital and higher specialist training through St Mary’s, he achieved a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in child and adolescent psychiatry and is included on the GMC specialist register. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) and has received two Clinical Excellence Awards in recognition of clinical contribution and commitment to high-quality patient care.
He has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of ADHD, including diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, medication initiation and optimisation, and psychological, behavioural, educational and lifestyle-based interventions.
A GMC-approved trainer and designated medical practitioner, Dr Faridi has trained and supervised doctors, nurses and pharmacists in ADHD assessment and safe prescribing in line with NICE guidance. Educational roles have included clinical and educational supervisor, MRCPsych teacher, CASC examiner and GP trainer.
He is currently undertaking lifestyle medicine certification with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, supporting a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Medical professionals such as psychiatrists, GPs, and paediatricians with a licence to practise may be able to prescribe after completing this programme.

Other qualified clinicians - including nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, or any practitioner with existing prescriber status - should check with their relevant licensing body.

Clinicians without prescriber status can explore routes to become Independent Prescribers, though this is not required to qualify as an ADHD Assessor.

Multiple assessment attempts are permitted within the 12-month course period. You will be fully supported by experts and peer group.

Upon successful completion of all modules, you will be awarded a Competency Certificate, recognising you as a Certified ADHD Diagnostic Assessor.
